To satisfy demands and regulations for personal protective equipment in the European working environment co-operation, Ullfrotté Original is now available in a complete special collection, reinforced with an aramide fibre that further improves the material’s flame-resistant properties. The aramide fibre is also a form of polyamide fibre.

Another layer is sometimes needed under a helmet in intense cold or strong winds. These balaclavas are beautifully warm and simple to pack away.

Klar® Ullfrotté Original - Undergarments that Keep You Warm! The material Klar® Ullfrotté Original is the result of many years of research. It consists of a combination of raw materials, 2/3 of the fibers are fine Merino wool and 1/3 of the fibers are a polyamide/polyester combination, which gives the fabric elasticity and makes it much more durable. The threads are knitted together on specialty machines that create a light, airy weave of terry loops which, together with the natural properties of the wool fibers, creates a material with a very high insulation factor. Wool fiber has a natural property which neutralizes body odor and can hold up to 30% of its own weight in moisture before feeling damp. The knitted absorbs and wicks away perspiration and outside moisture, while retaining its ability to keep you warm.

Klar® Ullfrotté Original has several important properties. It builds up a heat-insulating layer consisting of fine Merino wool, polyamide/polyester and air. By wearing the soft side of the textile next to the body, the material's properties are maximized. The material then maintains the heat produced by the body while wicking away perspiration from the skin. Klar® Ullfrotté Original keeps the body warm, wicks away perspiration, neutralizes odors, will not ignite (reducing the risk of burns) and can be washed in water temperatures of 60°C/140°F or more (the temperature at which bacteria found in clothing will die) and our garments can be tumble-dried on low without shrinking!
